Bending sections – precise, repeatable, to drawing.
Straight sections are everywhere. It gets interesting when a frame, a ring or an arc is needed – dimensionally accurate, repeatable and without kinks.
stainlesstec bends sections and tubes in stainless steel and aluminium on a CNC section bending machine: from flat bar through angle, T and channel sections to tube. And where the right section does not exist at all, we roll it as a special profile using our own tooling.

ARKUS12 CNC section bending machine with PC400 control – automatic programming and in-process quality control.
CNC controlled: programmed, not guessed.
The PC400 control handles programming largely automatically and checks quality in process – while rolling is under way, not afterwards. Together with the infinitely variable speed that means the first arc of a run matches the last, and even a one-off is produced without lengthy trial and error.
In section bending, repeat accuracy is not a matter of feel but of control.

The minimum radii apply per section and orientation; material and grade can affect the result as well. And as always: a machine limit is not a component limit – for borderline cases we would rather look at your drawing than at a table value.
Special profiles: if your section does not exist, we roll it.
Not every design can be built from standard sections. For special cross-sections we use our own rolling tools and produce your profile to drawing – as a sample, a one-off or a recurring small batch.
That pays off wherever a section has a job to do: defined edges for seals, locations for add-on parts, or cross-sections that will weld cleanly later on.
If the right section does not exist, we make it.
Stainless steel and aluminium: bending is material work.
Section bending brings out the character of the material: stainless steel springs back to different degrees depending on grade, high-strength aluminium alloys tolerate tight radii less well than softer ones – and delicate visible surfaces need protecting during rolling. Both materials are our core business: springback, orientation and surface protection are considered during production planning.
A rolled ring is welded here too, a frame straightened and ground, an assembly put together completely – all the subsequent work stays in house. That way the radius is matched from the outset to whatever comes next.

Having a section bent: what helps us
A few details are enough for a quick assessment:
Type and size of section, e.g. angle 50/50/5
Material and grade
the radius you need – as a dimension, drawing or CAD profile
orientation of the section during bending, if specified
quantity and whether it will recur
tolerances and mating dimensions
planned further work such as welding, surface finishing or assembly
required delivery date
Not sure whether your section is feasible? Send us the drawing – we will check radius, orientation and tooling.
