Precise machines and experienced staff are the basis of good manufacturing. On demanding parts, though, that is not enough on its own: the customer has to be able to rely on materials being unambiguously allocated, processes being under control, welding being carried out to a qualified standard, testing being traceable and deviations being dealt with systematically.
Quality at stainlesstec is therefore not only a question of the finished part. It is part of the whole process.
Our certifications document that capability for a range of requirements – from general quality assurance through demanding welding to pressure vessel construction and defence work: DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 3834-3, AD 2000 HP 0, and the DIN 2303 qualification recorded in the official register.
DIN EN ISO 9001 – quality begins with governed procedures.
ISO 9001 forms the basis of the quality management system. It is not about a particular part or process but about how a company organises, monitors and continually improves its processes.
For our customers that means requirements are carried into production in a structured way, responsibilities are defined, quality-relevant processes are monitored and deviations are dealt with systematically. stainlesstec has worked with a quality management system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 for stainless steel processing since 2009.
Relevant to you if you are looking for a manufacturing partner that does not just produce good individual parts but works repeatably and traceably.
DIN EN ISO 3834-3 – weld quality is not created at the finished seam.
Welding is what is known as a special process: whether a joint holds the required properties over time cannot be assured by a final visual check alone. Quality-assured welding therefore starts considerably earlier: material, welding process, procedure specification, filler metal, welder qualification, production conditions and testing all have to match.
DIN EN ISO 3834 sets out the quality requirements for welding shops accordingly. stainlesstec has held certification to DIN EN ISO 3834-3 since building up its pressure vessel business.
Relevant to you if welds have to be made within a governed welding process and not merely look good – on welded assemblies, pressure vessels, process components and other safety- or function-relevant structures, for instance.
AD 2000 HP 0 – when a welded structure becomes a pressure-bearing part.
Pressure vessels place additional demands on materials, design, manufacturing, welding and testing. AD 2000 HP 0 sets out the requirements for manufacturers of pressure vessels and pressure-bearing parts – among them the personnel and technical prerequisites for quality-compliant production.
stainlesstec built up its pressure vessel business in 2016 and is certified to AD 2000 HP 0 in conjunction with DIN EN ISO 3834-3. Among the products made are process vessels, heat exchanger components and vacuum chambers, and components for them.
Relevant to you if your part works under pressure or vacuum and therefore has to meet requirements beyond ordinary sheet metal or welding work.
DIN 2303 Q2 – particular requirements for defence work.
With defence products, material, welding, traceability and documentation can be subject to especially far-reaching requirements. DIN 2303 governs the quality requirements for manufacturing and repair shops for welding and related processes on defence products.
stainlesstec’s qualification is currently recorded in the official DIN 2303 register, which lists manufacturer qualification classes Q1 and Q2, component classes BK2, BK3 and BK4, and the welding processes laser beam welding, MIG welding and TIG welding. Material groups 8.1 and 8.2 to DIN CEN ISO/TR 15608 are given; the certificate published there is valid until 1 April 2028.
Special applications such as non-magnetisable naval components show particularly clearly what such a qualification means in practice: it is not the weld alone that counts, but the controlled route from material and specification through to the inspected part.
Relevant to you if you need components for defence applications where qualified welding processes and traceable manufacturing are a prerequisite.
Certificates are no substitute for a technical review
Certification does not automatically mean that any part within its scope can be made. The particular design, the material, the welding process, the component class, the testing required and any customer regulations always matter too. On demanding projects we therefore first establish:
Which standard or specification applies?
Does the part fall within our certified scope?
What material and welding records are required?
Which tests have to be carried out?
What traceability and documentation does the client expect?
Are additional customer or procedure approvals needed?
Only then is the actual manufacturing and testing process fixed.
Documentation is part of the delivery
On many projects the physical part is only part of what the customer needs. Depending on the project, the scope of supply may include material certificates, welding documentation, inspection records, marking and further evidence.
The scope needed is therefore defined before production starts wherever possible. Documents are then not assembled after the event for a part already made; instead, the records required are built into purchasing, production planning, manufacturing and testing from the outset.
Because quality that has to be evidenced later must have been organised beforehand.
Certified processes. Experienced people.
Certifications create rules and verifiable prerequisites. What they do not replace is knowledge of materials or experience in production. At stainlesstec the two sides therefore belong together: governed processes and qualified specialists.
Our staff have to understand how a material behaves when formed, how heat input affects weld distortion, when a surface becomes critical and when a deviation is technically relevant.
Certification provides the framework. How well that framework is filled in day-to-day production is decided by the skill of our people.

Your project defines the requirements. We establish which qualification they call for.
Do you have a design with particular requirements for material, welding, pressure, testing or documentation? Send us the drawing and the specification. We will assess which of our qualifications apply to the project and what the required manufacturing and quality process has to look like.
Let’s talk about your project.
Send us your drawing or CAD data by email – together with material, batch size and your requirements. We will come back to you with a sound assessment.
