Training pays off: Alexandru Rotariu is now a welding specialist (SFM)
Congratulations to our colleague Alexandru Rotariu on completing his training as a welding specialist (Schweißfachmann, SFM – internationally the International Welding Specialist, IWS)!
Over an intensive two-month course, Alexandru acquired wide-ranging knowledge of welding technology, materials science, design, safety and quality. The course is recognised internationally and sets demanding standards – which makes us all the prouder that he rose to the challenge with such success.
What a welding specialist does
A welding specialist plays a central part in the business:
- planning and supervising welding work
- guiding and supporting the welders in their day-to-day work
- ensuring quality and compliance with standards and codes
- examining and checking welded joints
- introducing new processes and technologies
- responsibility for occupational safety in welding
